We had a double function this weekend. Saturday, the pastor Geovanny, who came a month ago, brought his whole extended family to our house for a Christmas party. They have formed a "family bank," and this was their annual reunion. Mostly games and fun, but also a barbecue lunch and a time of sharing in the evening.
Then Sunday, I tried to practice what I preach. The church needs to put more emphasis on teaching the children, so I tried my hand at it. I had three young students. Since my specialty is crafts, I used the "hexa-hexa-flexagon" to teach a three-point gospel: God is love, God is just, and God is good. We kept repeating the points as they learned to manipulate the paper, and wrote down the lesson on the nine different sides. It took them a while, but they finally learned how to expose all nine sides. Lord willing, they will be here next week for a review.
