Yesterday, Valeria gave me this letter from the pastor in Uganda with whom she worked. We arranged for Valeria to spend six weeks with Andy and Keeky Smith in their ministry on the islands in Lake Victoria. Valeria was the first “non-North American” missionary volunteer to visit Andy and Keeky. Here’s a transcription of the letter:
“Shepherds Heart Ministry, Jinja, Uganda, July 15, 2013
Dear Bro. Gordon,
Greetings in Jesus’ name. Thank you for directing to us sister Valeria. It was a divine connection for her to Africa, most especially Uganda and in SHIM based in the islands of L. Victoria at Kyoya landing site.
She has been of a great help to the community, full of mercy and love as well as compassion. ie. she helped a lady who gave birth to baby boy without help. The husband left her some 4 months back and yet afected with Aids. But due to her constant visits and counsilling, her health improved.
She loves her work of being a doctor and cares so much for the patients’ life and health.
Socially, she has been social to all people, children, youth and adults and all the time she had the word for every group.
She made a seminar for children for 3 days and over 150 children and about 50 mothers turned up. She shared with them the word of God, played with them, taught them new songs and even feed them like Jesus did. It has become historical in the island of Namiti. It has never happen before.
She was also very kind to the children, yet African children are somehow sturbon but she could handle them with love.
She also spoke in my church to the youth and I tel you, the church still waits when she will be back in Africa. The word tatched the lives of people.
I see Jesus in her and care and behavior.
Our thanks as a churches in the island goes to all suporters who joined hands together to make sure Valeria reaches Uganda as the first from Equeder to the islands.
It’s my prayer that the relationship which has started may continue until Jesus comes back. We are ready to receive more misionaries.
May the Lord God bless you.
Yours faithfully,
Pr. Mumbya Samson
Director of Evangelism in SHIM.
N.B.
Spiritually, she knows God and knows how to here from God and even to divid the word of God righly as though she was born in Africa.”
